DESCRIPTION:Join community members at the University of Michigan for a free decarceration organization fair followed by a screening of Beyond and a panel discussion. \nBeyond\, Asia Johnson’s first co-directed and co-produced feature-length film\, follows a group of incarcerated men at Sing Sing prison as they organize and prepare for a TED-style event featuring personal narratives and ideas for changing the prison system. \nSchedule:Organization setup: 3:30 p.m.Decarceration Organization Fair: 4:00–5:00 p.m.Documentary screening and panel discussion: 5:00 p.m. \nThe panel will include Asia Johnson; co-producer and co-director Michael Kleiman; and Micheal Tineo\, who is featured in the film and is now doing transformative decarceral work in New York City.
