DESCRIPTION:Join us as we publicly launch Reimagining Safety Michigan\, a statewide effort building a bold vision for a Michigan rooted in care\, collective governance\, and community accountability — not policing and prisons. \nThis Kick-off & Training will introduce a powerful set of tools and resources developed over the past year and a half by nine partner organizations\, including a Platform of Abolitionist Priorities for Michigan\, a voter-focused call-to-action for the Governor and Attorney General\, a transformative toolkit\, and interactive power and landscape maps. \nAttendees will have the opportunity to connect\, learn\, and begin engaging with these resources together. Childcare will be provided. \nThis event is part of a two-part launch series. Following the keynote address\, a panel of experts will have a conversation about the history of the fight for equal rights\, ways Michigan can move forward toward the promise of democracy\, and policy solutions that will help improve outcomes for kids\, families and workers.
