Incarceration Prevention and Public Safety Learning Community

The Incarceration Prevention and Public Safety Learning Community is a statewide network of advocates, organizers, service providers, researchers, practitioners, and community leaders working to reduce reliance on incarceration and advance community-based approaches to public safety.

Meeting quarterly, the Learning Community provides a space for those actively engaged in public safety, diversion, restorative justice, violence prevention, and criminal legal system reform efforts to share ideas, discuss emerging challenges and opportunities, learn from local and statewide initiatives, and build connections across Michigan. Participants exchange resources, explore promising practices, and collaborate on efforts that support prevention, accountability, and alternatives to incarceration.
