Why Harm Reduction?

Historically, responses to mental health crises and substance use have been punitive, often resulting in harmful stigmatization, criminalization, and increased risks for everyone involved. In contrast, harm reduction prioritizes health, autonomy, and safety, supporting individuals to make choices that protect both their well-being and public safety. This approach can prevent unnecessary incarceration and offer long-term solutions.

Our panel will feature leading voices in harm reduction, each with unique insights and on-the-ground experience.
