Safe and Just SIgnature Event in Lansing

Join Safe & Just Michigan for its 2026 Signature Event: Five Years of Fresh Starts on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 p.m. in Lansing, featuring Sheena Meade, CEO of the Clean Slate Initiative, for an evening celebrating advocates and champions of justice.

Please arrive between 6:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. as the event program starts promptly at 6:30 p.m. We will have a range of hors d’oeuvres, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options starting at 6:00 pm. This means you can quickly check in and enter the ballroom to network with friends and partners, while enjoying the selection of light refreshments.

We look forward to celebrating this past year’s hard work with you all and creating space to network with like-minded individuals. The evening will include the presentation of the William G. Milliken Award to Representative Kara Hope, a Justice Warrior award to Humanity for Prisoners and a Lifetime of Service award to Ronnie Waters.
