On January 25th 2024, WSJM.com released an article entitled, ‘Legislation seeks to ensure inmates have personal identification documents upon release.‘ The Michigan Collaborative to End Mass Incarceration advocates for a package of bills awaiting Michigan Senate approval. This legislation aims to guarantee that individuals returning from incarceration receive vital documents. MI-CEMI’s goal is to turn this support into law.
